Learn to forge iron in this basic beginner's course, taught by OFC resident blacksmith Sam Hibbs. This two-hour class will cover the basics of forging, hammer-work and tools used in blacksmithing. You’ll go home with an iron leaf keyring that you made yourself and the skills to start your journey into this fascinating craft.

This class is for students 16-years-old or older.

Cost of this class - $45 payable to your instructor at the beginning of class, plus the $22 registration fee payable here to sign up.

Total cost of class - $67 includes registration, class fee, all materials, and admission to the Craft Village.

For all classes, students MUST wear nonflammable clothing -- NO synthetics or synthetic blends.  No open-toe footwear or any boots with meltable tops.  Bring eye protection if you have it, but safety glasses will be provided if not. You will not be allowed in the forge area if you are wearing flammable clothing.

If you have the following tools, please bring them to class with you, but if you don't all tools will be provided for use in class.

Restrictions
