taught by Susan Belsinger
In this class, I will show you basic ways to use herbs, both fresh and dried, to make food taste better. The proper use of herbs can elevate foods to another level—from good to exceptional. Together, we will cook up some beans, legumes and grains and season them liberally with herbs and spices, and sample them to taste and dissect their flavor nuances.
Learn which herbs complement beans and grains and how to combine tasty blends. I will share with you my favorite sources for the best beans and herbs and spices. Each student will make a few blends to take home.
Bring an apron, kitchen knives (chef and paring), to-go mug or drinking jar and a sturdy basket or box to carry your goodies home. I have plastic cutting boards, however you might want to bring your own wooden one. I will provide handouts, however you might bring a notebook.
