Lavish Herbal Feast--A Taste of Japan Menu

Washshoku (wa = Japan/harmony/peace and shuku = eat or food) is the word representing the deep-rooted traditional foods of Japan, which are forms of nourishment as well as moritsuke (the Japanese love of beautifully plating food in individual small dishes as an art.)

The Lavish Herbal Feast will be a Japanese-style dinner (Ichiju Sansai), which consists of one soup, a main dish with two smaller vegetable dishes    (usually a vegetable side and a salad or pickle) and rice. Each day we will feature a different version of Tsukemono (Japanese Vegetable Pickle).
