ABOUT ABOUT

Taught by Joyce Honeycutt

This intermediate quilt uses fat quarters and a pattern that you will cut all the pieces for before class. It is especially beautiful done in batiks. After you register, your instructor will email you your supply list so you can purchase your pattern and materials and have your fabric cut for class. You need to bring your own supplies and sewing machine.

A "punctuation quilt" is a quilt that features a design created using shapes or patterns that resemble punctuation marks, like periods, commas, exclamation points, and question marks, sewn together to form a unique and visually interesting quilt pattern; essentially, the quilt's design is inspired by the visual elements of punctuation symbols.

Quilters can use different fabric colors and sizes to represent various punctuation marks, creating a playful and artistic composition. Depending on the arrangement of the punctuation marks, the quilt could potentially convey a message or story through the use of punctuation. While not a traditional quilt design, punctuation quilts are becoming increasingly popular as a way to add a unique and contemporary aesthetic to quilting.
