ABOUT ABOUT

This fall, retreat to the Ozark Mountains for a weekend of stringband music and handcrafted arts at the Ozark Folk Center State Park in beautiful Mountain View, Arkansas.  Lively old-time music, Ozark artistry, and the Great Outdoors are at the heart of this two-day, family friendly event you are sure to remember.

Proudly sponsored by Stone Bank and Mountain View Chevrolet.

If you'd like to choose your own adventure during Stringband Music & Arts Festival, here’s what we recommend during your stay:

Make sure to stop by the Ozark Highlands Theater to see America’s most talented and energetic stringbands perform throughout the weekend.  You won't want to miss feature performances by The Tillers on Friday and two sets by the Hogslop Stringband on Saturday.  If you like to dance, bring your dancing shoes!

There are 20 different artisan shops and artisans in Craft Village to visit and experience at your own pace from 10 a.m. till 7 p.m. during the festival.  Meet and greet some of the region's most gifted artisans and watch as they demonstrate a variety of art forms, like stained glass, copper flame painting, papercraft, blacksmithing, wire wrapped jewelry, knife and broom making, herbal apothecary, leathercrafting, typeset printing, stoneware pottery, fiber arts, and more.

If immersing yourself in nature and the Great Outdoors is more your style, be sure to stroll through the park’s renown Heritage Herb Garden where pass-along plants, flowers, and herbs for healing are in abundant display. We highly recommend taking a tour with one of the expert gardeners or herbalists during your visit!

During the daytime, we think you'll enjoy the live stringband music will be performed by the Ozark's finest at the Blacksmith Stage in the upper level of Craft Village, and find time to visit the Shannon cabin homestead and one-room schoolhouse. For the younger set, stop by for a ride on the picnic swing pulled by Whiskey or Tango the donkey.

If you need a place to stay, the Ozark Folk Center offers duplex cabin rooms at the Cabins at Dry Creek, located on-site. The cabins are located near the award-winning Skillet Restaurant, also located at the state park, where buffets and specials are served every weekend (April-October).  For more info about meals & lodging during Stringband Music & Arts Festival, visit OzarkFolkCenter.com.
